Meet Sadeer B. Hannush, M.D.

Dr. Sadeer B. Hannush is one of the most respected corneal and refractive surgeons in Pennsylvania. His credentials include distinctions earned at almost every level of work and education. Dr. Hannush is widely recognized as a leader in the field of corneal and refractive surgery both by the public and his peers. The bulk of Dr. Hannush’s patients are referrals from other physicians, oftentimes their friends and relatives. At Oxford Valley Laser Vision Center, we take pride in that fact. Education

Dr. Sadeer B. Hannush earned his Bachelor of Science with Distinction and High Honors in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. From there, Dr. Hannush went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Dr. Hannush completed his residency at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and continued on to a fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Experience

In addition to his practice, Dr. Hannush is currently serving as Attending Surgeon on the Cornea Service at Wills Eye Institute and Assistant Professor of ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Hannush is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Medical Association. He is widely recognized as a leader in the field of corneal and refractive surgery and has earned many distinctions from members of his field and the medical community at large.

Dr. Hannush is a member of the Ophthalmic Drug Panel and a consultant to the Ophthalmic Devices Panel of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Washington, D.C. In 1995, he served on the FDA panel that approved the VISX® excimer laser, the very laser that he uses in most of his corneal and refractive surgery procedures.

For the past several years, Dr. Hannush has been chosen to teach at the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s annual meetings on the subjects of laser vision correction, astigmatism correction, intraocular lens management, and corneal transplantation. He is considered one of the top national and international experts in these fields.

Awards and Distinctions

Dr. Hannush, along with being one of the best ocular surgeons in the country, also spends a good deal of time teaching. It is this balance between providing excellent service to his patients and engaging his students that has allowed Dr. Hannush to receive so many professional honors:
